Please note that within this symposium, coordinators from these three JTCs will attend and present the progress of their consortium. Also, a networking workshop will be embedded in the symposium, as well as posters presentations by ECRs. This symposium will take place under the umbrella of the European Partnership for BrainHealth (EP BrainHealth).
Who is invited?
Only Coordinators of consortia funded from the JTCs 2023 are invited to attend the mid-term symposium, as well as one early career researcher (ECR) per consortium. These projects are running and the symposium offers the opportunity to present the progress to the international scientific community and the funding agencies of NEURON and JPND.
Is attendance mandatory?
- Yes attendance is mandatory.
- Please register by March 13th, 2026.
- COOs, please note that you will be asked to identify your accompanying early-career researcher.
- COOs, please submit an abstract of your project/talk along the provided format.
- Early career researchers, please note that you will need to provide an abstract for your poster presentation. The registration page provides a format for the abstract that must be uploaded together with the registration.

What to expect and prepare?
Submission deadline for abstract: March 13th, 2026
At the symposium there will be dedicated slots for oral and poster presentations on all JTC 2023 projects, see tentative agenda below.
- Each coordinator or representative will be giving a 15min oral presentation about the project results and achievements, highlights, as well as future prospects.
- Each ECR will present a poster at one of the poster sessions either on May 21st or 22nd and submit the corresponding abstract until March 13th, 2026. Abstracts will be published and made available digitally and in print in the meeting’s abstract book.
Should the oral presentations (15 minutes) by the coordinators or representatives of the project have a certain format?
The oral presentations are part of the project monitoring for running projects. All projects and consortia might benefit from the broad networking in view of the international initiatives.
Please address the following issues in your talk according to the provided template/outline:
- What are the main achievements and highlights so far? Please keep in mind the audience’s various (scientific) backgrounds.
- Does the consortium have any plans to build on the results for future projects? What do you see as main impact of your research?
What is the required poster format?
Each ECR will present their work on the project as a poster. Please bring your printed poster in A0 upright format to the meeting. Posters can be mounted on May 21st 2026 between 8:30 and 9:00 am. As your work is part of the NEURON or JPND JTC2023 calls, please make sure to acknowledge this accordingly.
At the venue you will find a poster list and corresponding directions and instructions. Please, be present at your poster at the indicated time in the agenda and with your poster number.
The best poster will be awarded!
Is an abstract of the poster required?
Yes, each registered ECR must submit an abstract of the poster during the registration process by March 13th, 2026. The registration page provides a format for the abstract that must be uploaded together with the registration.
Workshop
For a fruitful exchange between the participants at the networking event a workshop will be hosted. Here, a number of relevant issues will be discussed in small groups.

Travel information
Will travel expenses be reimbursed?
As the meeting is mandatory for all NEURON coordinators of running projects, the COO’s expenses regarding travel should be covered by the travel budget allocated to your project. Please confirm your attendance by March 13th 2026 via registration.
As this symposium was not initially planned for the JPND coordinators, their travels and accomodations will be reimbursed by the EP BrainHealth.
NEURON cordially invites early career researchers (ECRs, doctorate students or PostDocs, one from each consortium) to participate in the symposium.
The travel expenses of the ECRs will be reimbursed by NEURON or EP BrainHealth (for JPND ECRs) under the following conditions:

- Poster presentation at the symposium
- Please arrange your travel and accommodation ASAP to keep costs low.
- According to the federal travel refund regulations, parking fees, internet access, meals and drinks are not refundable.

- Overall travel costs exceeding a total of 750 € have to be confirmed prior to booking and may be ineligible without official confirmation by the Secretariat.
Upon registration each JPND coordinator and each ECR whose attendance has been confirmed by the respective COO in the registration form will be provided with travel reimbursement information.
For reimbursement of expenses an E-Mail with link to an online platform and a guideline for registration there and uploading of documents and information will be send prior to the event.
