Scientific Advisory board

NEURON is the European Research Area network with a holistic view of the brain and a focus on mental health. In accordance to the national policy priorities of many participating funders, mental disorders are of high importance in NEURON call topics. NEURON Cofund2 will continue with this strategy. The activities are based on the Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), developed and written by the NEURON SAB and additional highly renowned experts.

The SRA encompasses the brain as a whole and covers mental disorders, neurological diseases, sensory organ diseases and peripheral nervous system disorders. The scientific priorities laid out in the SRA aim at understanding disease mechanisms (cell-based & animal models, comorbidities, and resilience), understanding disease progression (pathology, diagnosis, biomarkers, stratification) as well as interventions (prevention and treatment).

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is appointed to support the planning of strategic research issues.
