Symposium “Neurodevelopmental disorders”

In May 2020 NEURON-Partners INSERM and CNRS organised a symposium on the topic “Neurodevelopmental disorders” as an online format. The report was written by Alexis Mareschi with an introduction by Etienne Hirsch (INSERM) and Bernard Poulain (CNRS). The symposium is part of Work Package 8 ‘Outreach and interaction activities’ of NEURON Cofund.

Symposium “External insults to the nervous system”

In May 2015 NEURON-Partners INSERM and CNRS organised a symposium on the topic ‘External insults to the nervous system’ in Bucharest. The report was written by Professor Stéfania Maccari with a foreword by Etienne Hirsch (INSERM) and Bernard Poulain (CNRS). Symposium “Synaptopathies”

As part of Work Package 2 ‘Development of a Strategic Research Agenda’ of the NEURON project Inserm and CNRS organised a symposium on ‘Synaptopathies’. The symposium was held in Bonn, Germany on May 13th, 2014. The report was written by Katie Matho with a foreword by Etienne Hirsch and Bernard Poulain (INSERM). 2013

Symposium “Neurodevelopment and related disorders”

As part of Work Package 2 ‘Development of a Strategic Research Agenda’ of the NEURON II project Inserm and CNRS organised a symposium on ‘Neurodevelopment and related disorders’. The symposium was held in Reykjavik, Iceland on May 16th, 2013 as part of the European Month of the Brain. The report was written by Athéna R. Ypsilanti with a foreword by Etienne Hirsch (INSERM). Contributions by Amparo Acker-Palmer, Klaus Armin Nave, Wendy S. Roberts, Karen Avraham, Yehezkel Ben-Ari, Sigrid Weiland and Ragnhildur Thora Karadottir.

2012

Workshop “Neuroinflammation”

The workshop in Paris on 18th January 2012 was entitled “Neuroinflammation” and was focused on different aspects of its implication in various diseases of the Central Nervous System (CNS) which has a serious impact on health but also at the economic and social level. This Workshop is part of ERA-NET NEURON work package 2 “Development of a strategic Research Agenda”, work package leaders are Inserm and CNRS. The report was written by Christian Lobsiger with a foreword by François Bourre (CNRS). Contributions by Pierre-Olivier Couraud, Angela Vincent, Victor Hugh Perry, Alastair Compston, Martin Kerchensteiner and Markus Schwarz.

2011

Workshop “Multinational Clinical Trials”

The report “Multinational Clinical Trials” presents an overview of the homonymous NEURON workshop taking place in Loveno di Menaggio, Italy in May 2011. Together with the workshop “Transferring Technologies from Bench to Bedside” (see report below) this workshop completes task 2 “Result exploitation from research into brain diseases” of work package 2 “Strategic preparation of programme coordination and programme opening activities”. Work package 2 is led by FNR, Luxembourg; the report was edited by Petra Lüers (PT-DLR, Germany). Speakers at the workshop were Christian Ohmann (Coordination Centre for Clinical Trials, Germany), Jacques Demotes-Mainard (European Clinical Research Infrastructures Network, France), René S. Kahn (University Medical Centre Utrecht, The Netherlands), Wolfgang Oertel (Philipps University Marburg, Germany), and Sophie Koutouzov (Coordinator of the ERA-Net E-Rare, France).


Workshop “Transferring Technology from Bench to Bedside: Practices, Barriers and Policies”

The report “Transferring Technology from Bench to Bedside: Practices, Barriers and Policies” (PDF, 1,5 MB) summarizes a corresponding workshop held in Montréal in January 2011. The workshop was part of work package 2 “Strategic preparation of programme coordination and programme opening activities”, task 2 “Result exploitation from research into brain diseases”. Work package 2 is led by FNR, Luxembourg; the report was edited by Morgan Meyer and Frank Glod from FNR. Speakers at the workshop were Philip Barker (McGill University), Djalil Coowar (AxoGlia Therapautics SA), Joyce Fung (McGill University), Morgan Meyer (ParisTech), Nora Tarcic (Teva Pharmaceutical Industries), and Manfred Windisch (JSW LifeSciences).

Foresight study “Furthering Neuroscience Research on Neurodegenerative and Psychiatric Disorders”

A new foresight study on “Furthering Neuroscience Research on Neurodegenerative and Psychiatric Disorders” has been published in 2010 by ERA-Net NEURON. The report by Merle Ruberg and Delphine Prou was supervised by Alexis Brice and Bernard Bioulac and is part of work package 4, thematic input for programmes of the NEURON project. Work package leaders are INSERM and CNRS (France).
